and

CC-120p Programmable Full Spectrum Auto Dimming LED Panel - 319.99

Which one would you pick and why?

I like the size of the XR15w, pretty stellar from the reviews. What I like about the CC-120p is that I have actually seen them in action and have heard nothing but good things about the people who make them.

I own the second led fixture. Bought it on eBay for less than 200$. It's a decent fixture. Does what I need it to. But it has some quirks that has me saying "you get what you pay for".
First unit I received had A dead channel so I had to pay $30 to ship it back to california. But the new unit was 2 daY'ed to me which was okay.
Some Current quirks include: sometimes it can regulate itself below 5% other times it just shuts that channel off even though it says 4%, not a huge deal to me.
Also, and I'm still trying to figure this one out, my moon lights will not stay on past 11pm. But I can get them back on at 1am. I think it has to do with how the light interpolates between hours around the turn of the day. I'm fairly certain it was operating all night long when I purchased it so I don't know whaT changed.

Anyway, in summary the panel has a good amount of light. It's bright and provides great color. My tank is 30" deep and I have the light 7-8 inches above the water. There is not a huge variation In the blue's channel , I would have liked some more purples. Although the 3 moonlights are purple. You can program 3 separate chaNnels but you cannot dim manually, have to control through the settings.

I would look for a cheaper price or if you want to spend more, you can probably buy a higher quality unit.
