anyone seen any peppermint shrimp for sale local OC recently?

I have a low level aiptasia outbreak in my propagation system. I've been periodically hitting them with Joe's Juice, but never can seem to get them all, and then I get lazy and they pop back up in other areas of prop tank.

Or, anyone have a copperband butterfly to lend out or for sale?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Stricly Fish has peppermint shrimp and they are having a sale, 33% off Thurs. through Sunday. They are located off the 605 on Carson cross street is Los Coyotes. (562) 421-9106 Address is 6903 Carson St, Lakewood, CA Not close to OC, but they had them today.... :)

Hey Chris,

Pacific Reef in Foutanin Valley got around 5 peppermint shrimps in their tank for sale....Jeff exotic in orange also had copperband butterfly.

Thanks guys.
in a round about sort of way, Strictly is on my way home from downtown LB to NE GG.
I can cruise Jeff's Orange tomorrow while I'm "teleworking from home". :)

I just called the Anaheim PacReef and they have 4 p. shrimp right now at $6.99 ea, but no copperbands.

Strictly said they have 2 copperbands for $25 each and some peppermints for $9.99.

some people have had very good experiences with peppermints eating aiptasias, myself included in the past.
but it also depends on how much other stuff they have to eat in the tank.

The one I have ate the few Aiptasia's I had in one of my tanks... within maybe 2 weeks they were gone... But i guess others say it is hit-and-miss with them..

I just came back from strictly fish and they have a grip of peppermint shrimp. I bought three, so they came out to about $6.00. They have a lot of fish! It's a good sale, I don't think anyone can bet those prices after the 33% off. I was hesistant to buy any fish, cuz they came in today, and some were breathing heavily.

only drawback with pp shrimp is they will molest polyps that have food, ie when you target feed zoos or polyps, the pp shrimp will pick it out.

generally speaking, I had good experience with fish purchases from the old anaheim/gg Strictly Fish, but I see your point with recent arrivals.

Just curious, has peppermint shrimps been proven to eat aiptasia? I might need to get one soon. Thanks.

We've put a rock with aiptasia in with the peppermints yesterday and they gobbled it up!

Yeah, I'm never going to buy fish the day of arrival. I got a pair of skunk and Clarkii pair for $30 bucks each and they died on me an hour after I bought them. I couldn't go back to the store cuz it was either getting a 25% discount with no guarantee or paying the full price and getting the 14 day guarantee. I should've paid exta, cuz I knew they had arrived the same day, and the store didn't acclimate them properly.

I was zapping the aiptasia with some stuff I bought at Fish2000. Took care of em for a little while then they suddenly all popped up again. Bought a peppermint shrimp from Tong's in FV. Put it in my nano. Nothing happened for about a week, then suddenly all the aiptasia gone. Had a hard time finding peppermint shrimp at all the LFS's for some reason, but Tong's always has em...

They come in sparatically it seems. There will be none, and then there will be lots of them. It will be this way because they all use the same wholesellers anyways.

As for the peppermint shrimp... Ive had 4. None of them even touch aptasia. Could be because I over fed the take a little though. Just a heads from from me :)

They will eat smaller Aptasia, but not real big ones. Inject bigger ones with a thick Kakwasker mix.
