Which Red Sea Max to purchase?

Looking to purchase my first Red Sea Max. I have space up to 48in wide, but more concerned with knowing what you all think is/was the best size to start with. Pros/cons of various sizes and dimensions?

24x24x48 (120 gal) is a very popular size as is 24x24x72 (180 gal)

Smaller sizes fill up faster. But… it doesn’t take as much money to get in and enjoy the hobby.

Personally, I went with the reefer 300xl. I think you get a good sized tank for the footprint.

It’s really a very personal decision, though, depending on how much space you have, how much maintenance you feel like you can keep up with etc.

I went with the 300 because it felt like a nice middle ground on those factors, but your mileage can easily vary.

My LFS gave the sage advice “I think you’ll be happy with whatever you get”. I think that’s probably true.
