Which Streamer?

Hi Roger,

I have a 145g tank with mixed soft and SPS corals. I'm phaseing
out the softies and replacing with more and more SPS. I also have
a big Magnifica anenome in the tank.
The sand is about 1mm grain-size.

I really love what I have seen about the Streamers so far, but I'm
not really sure what to get.

I'm considering either the 6010 kit or the 6110 kit. I used to
have a OceanRunner6500 pumping 6500 liters/hour before but that
was way too much. I had sand blowing everywhere...
That's why I'm a bit afraid ordering the bigger Streamer..

I also heard that there's some new models on the way? Should I wait for those or?

Which one would be the right one for me?

Best regards

Hans

It's set up as a room divider with one of the short sides against a wall. It's on this side I have the pumps... and a lot of live rocks. Then there's some free space before another pile of rocks and corals and the magnifica anenome.

I'll attach some pictures as well..

There rock are built a bit higher now and there's a little bit more free space between... but it's pretty much the same as in these pictures.

Very nice! It looks like an Aqvastabil aquarium from Denmark. Those are my favorite and I wish they were available here. My best suggestion is to use 2 7400/2 with a multicontroller. The reason is a 6000 is not enough, and the 6100 is too much. The 6000 will only move about 48" of water. Further, The anemone will be at more risk with the Streams then with the standard turbell electronic. I have the same yellow ritteri, he has been in my care for 5 years now. I use the 7400/2 with intake extensions to the bottom of the aquarium so the intakes are hidden behind the rocks. I also use a T for two intakes to even more diffuse the pressure. The intakes lie on the bottom- maybe 1" over the substrate and this keeps the detritus suspended for the filters to remove.

Thanks!
That setup would be great but it's too much money for me right now.... about 300 euro is max what I can spend now.
I'm not worried about the anemone and the pumps. It never moves more than 1 inch. It loves light and any way it goes it would go away from the light.

With the 300 euro cost limit... would it be OK with the 6110 and a bit reduced flow?

I would agree then that the 6100 would be the best choice but you likely need to run it at half power. The 6110 is no longer available so it would be kit TS12.

It is a little more expensive. We had to give up combining the two products in one package to increase production capacity. You can imagine making a batch of 6100's and storing those boxes is one thing but to add another production run and storing another box just to make the 6110 was making it more complicated. It also made it more complicated for shops to stock because every pump we made that was controllable had a ..10 type. Now the single controller comes in a seperate box and the set went up about 5Euro.

Thanks alot for your help!

I'll go for the 6110 or TS12 then. I'm sure both me and my corals will love it!

Have a nice Eastern!

/Hans
