Which way should the clam be facing?

OK. I was in my LFS today and overheard what I think are 2 fairley knowledgeable guys talking about clam placement. I heard one of them say that if you place a clam on an incline that the inhalent siphon should be on the downside or lower end. I have a Crocea that I have had for about 6-7 months and it is on a slight incline and the inhalent siphon is on the higher side. Should I flip it around? It is attached to a rock and could move around if it wanted so I feel like it is happy the way it is.

if the clam isnt having any problems then i would just leave it.but what you heard is correct. when the clam is placed with the in-current siphon higher it can put stress(pull) on the byssal gland.
