Why is there no life on/in my LR?

I purchased some Premium Fiji LR from Drsfosterandsmith. I do not seem to see any worms or anything coming from it. I looked at like 1100pm last night and 1 am this morning. I then covered the tank today with a blanket and when I got home I looked again and still saw nothing. Am I missing something, shouldn't I have seen something by now? The rock did not really smell bad at all after its 2 day transit to here. What do you think with your past experience with LR? I do know that they spray this rock to get rid of Mantis Shrimp(good) and Bristleworms(I dont know why you would want to get rid of them). I am hoping that this curing process did not rid the LR of all the things I wanted from it.

You said that you just got your LR...well it takes time for things to start showing up.

There is a lot of "trauma" to the live stuff on your LR when it gets shipped....takes a bit of time for it to rebound.

Patience.........:)

Nothing good happens fast in this hobby.

my sis got a 45lb box a few weeks ago. stuff started to appear a week or 2 after the cycle, it will happen soon enough

Thanks! I guess you could equate my experience with my rocks as when I had my first kid. LOL! Take em to the doctor after every cough and worry worry worry. Well maybe not quite like my kids but ou know what Im saying. :)

I ordered around 20 lbs of various types of rocks from 2 different vendors and have yet to see any real "life" on the rocks as of yet. Everyone keeps telling me to be patient and in a few weeks different things will start to appear. I sure hope so as watching the critters at night is one part of reefing I like best!

Edit:
I take what I said back.. I just looked into my tank now (the ammonia has come down from over 8+ to under .5) and i'm seeing copepods ALL over my glass. Neato!
