Will a free floating algae fasten if held down?

We have some free floating ulva at our store and my friend is bringing me some "tang heaven" that is free floating for my planted aquarium, anyone have an idea if this stuff will attach if wedged between rocks or fastenened down?

Ulva's and gracilarias (what I'm assuming your calling "tang heaven") can grow either free floating or anchored. The free floating stuff tends not to attach, but if it sporolates and the spores take in your tank, they might sprout up attached to surfaces

i have a refugium full of free floating ulva. Just throw in some rocks and some of the ulva will attached itself to the rock over a period of time. ( i got no idea how ulva attach itself to them.) but it work
