Will Blastos grow beyond the rock?

I picked up some blastos (my first) from my LFS. They are on a small rock that I put on the sand in my tank. They have grown to cover the rock and now I'm wondering if I need to do anything or if they will form skeletons and spread out over the sand.

They should form their own skeleton. They will need the proper calcium levels in the tank to be able to lay down said skeleton. I have been told that they are slow growers. Mine have always been thick and full but it has been rare for me to find many new babies.

Thanks. Mine have been pretty good. Up from 5 buttons to 7 in the last 3 months.
