will drilling my aquarium here be OK?

Here's what I want to do:
drill my new aquarium near the top of a "short" end with two 2" holes for bulkheads. The aquarium I'm drilling is a 72"x 24"w x 30"h 225 gallon Perfecto. The glass to be drilled won't be tempered or reinforced. There will be no "overflow box". This arrangement is very similar to the drain standpipe I'm using right now on my (tempered bottom) 225 Perfecto except it has some 90's and it won't run up and down entirely inside the aquarium.
My main concern is the side glass that I want to drill. Will it be able to handle water pressure after being drilled as I described?
This picture only shows what I'm describing. It's not my aquarium.

Garry, I have been told that as long as you have a minimum of two inches between holes, or edges of glass, that you should be OK on large tanks (thicker glass) You might try to contact a glass shop just for fun.

yes, it should be fine IMO. Many people drill alot of holes in there tanks with no problems.

Many people also drill their tanks and have lots of problems.

Your proposed drilling plan should be fine, there's no appreciable water pressure at that height. As mentioned earlier, leave at least the diameter of the hole clearance between the edges of each hole.

should be ok, But I would drill the middle hole first, then work my way outward in either direction.
