i was given this and it was open the first day, then it has not opened in a couple days. Will it be ok? can anyone tell by the picture. This is my first one
When I first got my Roes duncan, it didnt open for over a month. I thought it was going to die for sure, but it did eventually pop open and start feeding like nothing was ever wrong. It was part of a club group order, and AFAIK it was the only one in the group that did that. Meaning- I wouldnt worry about yours right yet.
Hi, I'm on the same boat, I have mine for a while now and they are closed, I can not figure it out what's going on, move them around, more flow, less flow, water changes, I got a foxface out that was picking stuff, some times they open but not like they used to, I've check water parameters, salinity, etc... I started with one polyp of each Roes and ORA, I have now about 7+ polyps of the Roes and 3 ORAS
Whey went from this
Had the same problem sometime ago with one of my duncan frags I purchased. It opened up for the first 5-6 weeks then closed up. I moved it around several times - every now and again it would just peep out a little but go back in. This went on for two weeks ... then the frag died.
The other frag which also did not open - I just moved it slightly back for less flow - so only moved it once by a few cm. It opened up a week after the first frag died.
So my theory.....dont move them around too much it stresses them out :-(
mine is been longer than 5 weeks been this way but still produce babies, the skin is not receiding I can see new growth, just not opening the way the used too any more ideas besides moving them?

No, some days looks better than others and at nights still the same even after couple of hours in the dark. I'm using a lot of carbon just in case there is something on the water but so far no changes, everything else is fine.
mine almost looks hollow inside. Could it be dead? I know it came unglued off of the frag plug and was leaning against some ricordea, not sure if the ricordea killed it
