Will Pods Be Stopped By Filter Media In Sump?

I know this is a silly question but I have to ask It anyway.
I'm setting up my new Trigger sump that has a refugium in the far end.
It has 3 areas where Filter media can be placed, foam block, sheet etc..
Will this prevent the pods and other stuff from entering the main dispaly tank?
I've had LFS tell me that the pods will actually grow in the stuff and tons still make it thru.
Looking for others opinions as always. TY

The pods will definitely grow on the filter media, for sure. I cant say that none of them will make it through. Im sure some will , but it may inhibit how many get through.

Any extremely porous foam that would do the trick? Or any suggestions?

Well its really quite simple. If the pods will fit through then they will get through. Hey that kind of rhymes.
