I had great luck removing 99% of my green bubble algae by using the Vodka, Sugar, Vinegar dosing method. I had clumps of the stuff and would manually remove a couple of small tupperware containers full a week. And I have had a Red Sea Sailfin for over a year with no luck. After I started the VSV dosing, the bubble algae came off in clumps that I then netted out of the tank. It also turned the short turf hair algae I had white and then it disappeared. Our local club had another member that also tried it and got a similar outcome. Your results may vary , but it might be worth looking into.
A couple of pics to show the difference. Same coral in the same location about 6 months apart with VSV dosing in between.
