Will tank recycle--starting to see signs

ok well since i added these 250 watt MH it starting to create bubbles on top of the rocks again, like it did when it was cycling, is this good, it seems to be producing a dark brown type algae along with these bubbles...is this a sign of re-cycling or is it just growth from algae, i thought it was part of the nitrate process(these bubbles)....should i do more water changes or no due to too many nutrients, if these are nitrate bubbles then will it spike?

How about making your light stay on shorter time. Light cycle will take place and if you still have that algae that you had in the tank and is not gone completly then it will start growin out of rocks and you will have longer time fight it. I have not seen the tank for a long time so I'm not sure. I'm not sure how the feeding is too. I know you have RO/DI now all filters new. Rocks with kinda slim and bubbles that look like they are about to come off the algae is normal. You might also see that on your sand too. Maybe less light time in your tank, drop the temp a little.

yeah i dropped 15kmh's to 7hr 10k to 8 hrs and 20k to 9 hrs so i did that for now, i add food twice a week like you said to do....and also the temp doesnt go above 78.5 with only fans runnin....should i still drop the temp more...? should i cut back on food again...the algae seems to be gone from half the tank, the other half i still have dead algae, and now since fresh bubbles are startting to form, its starting to creat more algae

I don't think that the temp should matter... I think that's good.

What lighting did you have over the tank to begin with? 150mh-->250?

well when the temp is high it creates algae growth bigtime....i had 4 pcs 96 watt, and the temp was always 79-82....it went down since i added the MH's and extra fans

right now my temp reads 77 after lights out for over an hour...personally i need to add more fans 2 more ill be good....when i get kmore money there 25 bucks each

Having a higher temp in my old nano at the old apartment didn't create algae at all. It was like 84 for the summer.

I'm thinking it may just be the intensity of the new lamps.
Some people only have their photoperiod for 6 hours as that's about peak "direct" sunlight in the wild.

I agree, if you are having algae bloom its from nutrients, which are ignited by the lights... you can reduce your light cycle or you can remove the nutrients. I always had some nitrates and phosphates until I started running my overflow through a tub of macro (cheto) algae. Now both are 0 and no more algae blooms. I even took off my phosphate reactor. Upgrading to 440w vho, macro algae and maxi jet mod are the three greatest things i've done to help my tank thus far.

drop your light cycle more than that. Let the macroalgae take all the nutrition or most of it from the algae that is dying off the rocks.

what kind of bioload do you have. still have all those tangs?
i would drop the photo period for a week and gradually bring it back up. it is usual for algea to grow when new lighting is introduced so it should go away
