ok so i got the piece of live rock with this unknown coral on it, when i got the rock the coral was moving and had these little polyp things. but due to my light back then it died. after 3 months or maybe a bit more i now have way better lights and the coral is exposed to the light! it is small, will it survive? what even is it? it was white when it was moving.
as u can see it has some algae but there are those two spots tht are very white!

Could be a leather of some type. Most are very hardy and would have a good chance of living. Also kind of looks like amelting Xenia in which case I would guess it is toast.

It kind of looks like an SPS or LPS, ( if it's a coral ) due to the white skeleton.
Could take a while before it starts to heal, if it does. Just keep the water stable and don't mess with it. If it's not attached to the rock, then move it to a lower flow area.

EDIT- I reread your post.. If it's been white and is now growing algae on it, I doubt it will come back. You can still try, though. Good luck.

Thanks! and it had algae on it when i moved it, it used to be under a rock. i touched it before, it is hard now. i guess ill leave it be and see what happens :)

Almost looks like GSP when the tentacles are retracted, but never seen GSP white - just purple to very light purple.

It does look like an SPS. Maybe an encrusting monti.

It's hard to tell, but if some of the skeletion is that white and freshly gone it may not be totally dead.
