Will this double 40 breeder stand work?

I needed a double 40b stand and this is what I came up with. I'm just wondering if this will work since the top stand is not directly on the outer posts. Any input?

I am by no means an expert on this....but from the extensive research and reading that Ive done, it absolutely should hold a 500 pound filled 40B, especially with the cross support beams under the plywood.....should not be an issue.

I agree, looks plenty capable. Do you plan on putting plywood on the sides or especially the back to prevent the stand racking/twisting?

I'll put some 3/4" ply on sides and half in back. Leaving top portion open for plumbing and wires. I was just worried about top 40g not being on the 4 corner posts. The stand seems very strong. Thanks for input. It's a back room holding tank setup. Not getting fancy with wood trim and what not. Just need some water resist paint. Would you put some type of foam under tanks?

The corners of the tank look like they will be sitting over plywood which is practically almost above the edge of the vertical 2X4's, and when you consider each of the corners is really only holding a little more than the weight of a 10 gallon tank, I don't think you have any worries, plus you ran those extra 2X4's directly under the sides of the 40 breeder so I see no issues, looks solid.

This is exactly how my stand is. Cept my top tank is 36 x 24 x 20, and it houses a 36 x 18 x 17 sump in the stand. I have no worries, and you shouldnt either. I used 2 x 4's all the way around, put 2 on the top frame close to the edges to help support the tank. I skinned the top with 1/2 oak ply wood, and the rest in 1/4"

Yep should be fine but that will have a significant amount of weight on the floor. Make sure you know what is beneath it.
