wrasse fight: Red tail Flasher Vs. Carpeter flasher?

Wrasse junkie
will these species fight ? I currently have a pair of Pylei, pair of Port Vila,a red tail male, and a luddocks(not sure M/f) and have 2 carpenters in an acclimation box and the red tail and luddocks are very interested. the red tail is attacking the box. should i return the fish? they are the same size. there is a larger carpenter also in a tube in the acclimation box. he is very shy though and hasn't seen anyone yet.

Its your call but the red tail could think the carpenters are other red tails which would not fly well with him. i would get rid of the carpenter

Give it time. Allow the aggression to diffuse.
+1...but... I just added 6 vanuatu wrasses to my 450g DT (with 20+ wrasses), after almost 10 weeks in QT and 3 days in acclimation box. No body bothered anyone, seemed as if no one cared! Set them free after lights out, NP...however in morning, my 'established' Naokoae was chasing my new Condy...they eventually came to a 'face to face', and 'locked lips'! I was going to scare them off with my tongs, but they were so intense that I was actually able to grab the condy with the tongs!, since I didn't want to squeeze too tight and hurt him, I released him and turned to pickup a net...they were still in their face off, oblivious to the net, and I scooped them both up at once! I have never seen this behavior before, so focused on each other, that I could capture them twice, within 10 seconds!
Expect to see a "Condy FS" thread, soon!
