BigWaz- you need a needlewheel pump to get the most out of a G2. Stick with the Sedra 3500.

man, they recommend i get the G-3, do u think i should? It's a 120 gallon with a 55 gal sump i'll be setting up. I guess i'll buy the sedra, i didn't want to because i bought the mag 5 a week ago

does the skimmer need to be completely taken out to clean it, cause if it's 25 inches in height and i only got 30 inches in the stand how will i make this work?

Get at least a G3. A G2 is not nearly enough, IMO.

The G3 is really 24.5 inches, and you only need about an inch of clearance to get the top off.

the asm g2 manufacture rating is 200. from what i understand when asm says 200 for a rating they mean it . i've heard that from a few people now . i personally think the vendors are just trying to make more money off people. IMO

ASM over rates there skimmers by double IME.

i think i'll go with the G-3 because it's only like 30 more dollars and this guy on the ASM club was explaining how better off he was with G-3. Does anyone know how to do the mods so when i get it they could maybe show me at a meeting or something?

I recommend running the G3 stock. Don't bother with the recirc mod. IMO, it does not increase performance and the pump does not like to stay attached after doing the mod. It's up to you. ya i am going to buy the skimmer from their site. i think i might have them do that gate vavle mod but not bother with the recir. mode, thanks for that input. I'm rather not bother with that recr mod and im happy to hear that it doesn't make a huge difference. I like to keep it as simple as possible but still efficent
