x-terminator trap not working

ive got a 2" mantis in my 180 gallon reef and i cant get him out. iv been baiting one of the x-terminator traps for a few weeks but no luck. theres to much rock and coral to remove it all to find him so thats out. do you have any usful advise to catch him? thanks

Ok. you may have seen my post in this forum with recent success. My ordeal worked by putting a thawed silverside in the trap. However, i also put some bottles in the tank with the tops cut out and reversed to trap all my hermit crabs that will trip the mantis trap. you have to put the mouth of the bottles up so the hermits can slide in. I only had 20 or so in my 58gal. My serpent star ALSO got trapped in the mantis trap and i put him in another bucket with air stone..
then.. You put the trap in a dark area of the live rock like a cave near where you think he is. See my thread for some mods i did to the trap. It has to be sensitive enough that he will trigger it. Securing the bait with a stick pin helps ensure he will struggle to get the bait and have better chance of setting the trap. Took me about 5 days..
