XM bulb issie

I purchased a new XM mogul 250w 10k bulb back in November.

For the past month the bulb would turn on and off even by walking by. I took the bulb out once or twice to make sure it was in properly and it kept happening. I also changed the ballast and the same thing happened. Today I open up the hood and noticed the bulb completely failed and exploded.

Was this a bad bulb...is there anyway to apply for a warranty replacement in Canada?

It's also strange that the algae under my left bulb is completely different than the algae under this bulb.

Besides a faulty XM bulb, do you think that one of your fishes preached the top area of your tank, splashing water onto the bulb causing the bulb to explode?

You're very lucky you have a hood that contained the molten glass that exploded outward. If you had a open hood, there's a good chance you would of had a major fire in your home. These bulbs run in excess of 500 degrees +.

Good luck at receiving a replacement bulb.
