Yellow and Blue Assessor

Both should be very peaceful fish and can even be kept in groups if all are added together, and, preferably one larger (male) to 3 or 4 smaller females. If you have plenty of caves/overhangs for both fish to have seperate territories, one of each species should be fine in a 75g.

Awesome, thanks guys. I saw a pretty good deal on them, blue and yellow for $60 each so I guess I'll get them to reserve them while my tank is still in the works.

They will probably be OK, but I have seen a few times where the yellow harasses the blue to the point that it hides all the time, and might as well not even be in the tank (yellows tend to be a little more aggressive than blues).

In that case, would it be better to introduce the blue one first?

I've never been convinced that makes a huge difference long term in fish interactions. It works short term, but eventually the fish settle into their natural levels in the chain. Like I said, most people are OK with both in a tank; just wanted you to be aware of potential issues.

Ah I see. I just always read everywhere that it's best to introduce aggressive fish last.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

Also interested, but I may prefer a small harem of yellow or blue only.

On a sidenote: how do the colors of blue and yellow assessor look like under actinics?
