really bummed

really bummed

I was all excited to finally see the pipefish in stock after a long wait. So I order 2 pipefish and a spotted mandarin. One pipefish came in DOA, I was really bummed out on that.

The second one looks good. I acclimated both the mandarin and pipefish for 2 hrs and notice the mandarin has an infection on top near the dorsal fin. So I setup a small 5 gallon QT tank for him and drop a small rock with pods for him. The pipefish went into the 37 nano which house 2 dragon pipefish and a tailspot blenny. Woke up this morning to find the mandarin pass on and the pipefish barely hanging on stuck at the overflow. The pipefish pass on a few hours later.

Was there anything I can do for the mandarin or pipefish differently? I'm really bummed out on this order. I have order from LA many time in the past and each came in exceptionally healthy. Not sure why this last order, the specimen were not up to par.
