yellow sponge appearing all over the place

everywhere i look in the tank this yellow sponge is forming on the rocks. i know they are filter feeders, but should i be concerned?

No, not sure how long the tank has been up but sponge growing everywhere is a good thing and sign of a mature tank. If it were the pineapple sponges I would suggest that you have a silica issue in the tank but since it is of the yellow variety you are good. I have the same stuff growing all inside of my glove polyp colony.if you really don't like it, I'm sure you can get a angel that will devour it. My emperor ignores mine all together

years ago i had natural black tube sponge that was a hitchhiker an spread like wildfire. Then one day it started to all melt. years ago i did not test for things like Ph an calcium. But i wish that stuff would come back. this yellow stuff is not very attractive.

Give it time it will bloom and recede depending on available nutrients in the water, and light

FME excessive sponge growth can be a sign of higher SI (Silicates) and PO4.
