1 fish for my 25G cube frag tank

I am looking for recommendations for 1 fish to put in my newly set up 18" cube (25 gallons). It is a bare bottom with 4 tiered frag racks and a few pieces of live rock under the racks. I am not worried about the looks of the fish but want something to help keep the tank clean, eat algae and add a small bioload to the tank. If it was your tank, what fish would you add? The tank is a rimless, open cube so the fish can't jump!

I really like blennies too, but they do jump. I lost a lawnmower blenny to the tile in an open top tank.

As far as keeping your tank clean, I would suggest snails and hermit crabs.

The only fish that I had in my rimless that managed to live in there without jumping for an extended amount of time was a pair of clowns and a coral beaty, however I did have a lone clown jump (before the pair) from that same tank. This tank is no longer running.

Maybe get a wartskin angler? They are not known to be jumpers :)

I didn't think of an angler. I do like those and kinda the kind of fish I am looking for...something that will sit around on the racks, swim around some. I thought of a hawkfish too but don't want them eating my snails. I will add a cleanup crew for most algae cleanup but would like to add 1 fish.

Any other suggestions? Keep them coming!

It wouldn't eat algae, but a 6-line Wrasse will eat other pests and you can't beat the color. And, as it will be alone, if/when it gets an attitude, there is no one to pick on.

I really like the idea of getting something aggressive that you can't keep in a community tank. It would allow you to have a fish that most other people don't keep because you have no concerns for compatibility!

Other than that, a gold-stripe-maroon clown might be cool, they can be really mean, but as long as it's the only fish I think you could get away with it.

I'm not sure if you could pair an anemone with it in a tank that size...have to refer to some other experts on here for that.

gold bars are way cool but mean as hell. I have one in a 8 gallon and it paired with 3 different anemones, 2 nems at the same time! id probably get 2 fish if it were my tank...a blennie and a royal gramma or clown or wrasse
