Not so much the GPH you need to worry about it's the PSI the pipe can handle before bursting. Most pumps will give you the recomended pipe size needed for their product to work correctly.
Sorry cor the confusion. I would say upwards of 800 GPH. Go for a 900 GPH pump and if the overflow can't keep up just throttle back on the pump with a ball valve till you get a steady water level.
