10 gal. Office Cubicle Build.

Hi all,

I've always wanted to do one of these build threads. I set up a standard 10 gal. tank in my office cubicle. I needed a bit of marine life in my stark plain cubicle since I'm a marine biologist, formerly a National Marine Fisheries Northeast Observer on commercial fishing boats for 200 days a year. Now, I'm in the office doing data entry :hmm5:

My goal is to do a nano-reef environment. The tank is currently set up and 7 weeks old. The occupants include 1 Firefish, 2 scarlet hermitcrabs, 3 astrea snails, and 1 turbo. I also have some soft corals; 1 green mushroom, 3 tiny purple mushrooms, a colt coral frag, a few heads of clove polyps, some green star polyps, and a paly rock.

I will update with pictures later, but I do have a question for anyone who is interested in giving an answer. I was interested in neon gobies and sexy shrimp. The final stocking list would be 1 firefish, 2 neon gobies (mated pair if I can find them), and 3 sexy shrimp. Is this pushing the bio-load limits for a 10 gal. tank? I plan on doing weekly 20% water changes instead of using a skimmer.

I think you'd be fine. I have 2 small clowns and 2 neon gobies in a 10 gallon, with no skimmer, and I've never had any problems. I do 20% weekly water changes also. Hope that helps!
