by the way, will the sure grip 50 magnets hold the maximods ok? they say for a maxijet 1200 but i'm not sure if the extra weight of the mod will throw it off, and maybe i should get the sure grip 100...

Yes, the sure grip 50 is what I use. The MaxiMods I use are also made by Sure Grip.
