Im thinking about taking my 10g freshwater tank and converting it to salt. im going to paint the back of it to make it look nicer. I had a few ideas but im a newb and not sure what would be best. I dont really want to spend to much money on it so i will probally be trying buy everything i need used. I would like to set up a closed loop kinda like the one on melvsreef. The only problem with that would be i would still have a heater and 3 pipes in the tank. Also would i need a filter for carbon? I was trying to think of inexpensive ways of making a closed loop that would encoroprate carbon, heater, filter floss all behind the tank (6 inches or less). Any suggestions/help would be apreciated. thanks

Have you looked at the "bulletproof reef" at the garf.com web site? They may give you some ideas on the 10 gals tank. As far as inline heaters, I cant help ya. If you haven't bought the SQWD yet, I have a brand new one that never touched water that is still in the box, I will sell you gor the price I got it from marine depot. I could bring it to the meeting if interested.
