I just want to see what's most popular. I've been using 20k per the recommendation of my LFS, but I'm curious about 14k. Comments?

I have 20k SE ushios on a PFO HQI ballast but theyre too blue for me. I'm thinking of anywhere in the 10k-14k range for my next bulbs that only have a slight tint of blue and look white.

10k bulbs won't even have a hint of blue. It will just be super white. I have 10k Ushios and am definitely going to 14k

The 20k bulbs seem a little on the blue side, but I've been told that the 14k will look yellowish. Any truth to this? Also, what do SPSes like the best?

Ive had 14k's and 10k's, I dont think that 14k's look yellowish..depending on the bulb... as far as what SPS's like the best, myself I would say 6500k

I run a 14k hamilton SE on my 29g, and corals are growing, but nowhere near as fast as they do on our 125g, that has 2x400w iwasaki 6500ks.

14K Aqua Connect 250 watt SE, its pure white with a touch of blue, high PAR and corals seem to love it. I've tried 12K Reeflux which is nice too, and the 20K Helios which is more blue, but still has good brightness.

NYReef,

Which of the two did you like better, Refflux or Helios? Did you notice a slow down in growth with the Helios?
