110RR lighting

I am getting a 110 RR 36x24x30 and am planning a 400 watt 10000K MH w/192 watts of actinic on it. Will this be enought to keeps clams on the sand bed?

I know I will have to wait a while before getting my first clam, but, I need to know now if I have enough light.

I have seen the same setup keeping SPS and they were colored nicely and growing like crazy.

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply. One other question:

Duration? I was thinking 10 hrs a day for the MH and 11 for the actinic.

Thanks,

No problem. Photoperiod is very subjective. People do from 6-14. I always have done 10 or 11 with MH.

I think what really matters is consistancy.

OK, this thread is getting off the original topic, but, it is about keeping clams in this setup so...

I am going to use an autotopoff with kalkwasser and add reefbuilder and reefcomplete. I wonder if this will be enough. I really don't want to do a calcium reactor.

Also, my return pump will put out about 500GPH at the calculated head and I plan on using a 900GPH (calculated after loss) closed loop through a SCWD with 4 outputs. Do you think this will be plenty? I have always used power heads in the past (except for one or two closed loops) so I figure this will be enough but if I really need to, I will buy another pump.

Thanks again for all your help,
