Hi Folks,

Looking for some suggestions on 125 reef stocking.. Will be starting as a FOWLR until I get the hang of it, but eventually will be adding corals so I would like to stick to reef safe fish.

I really have no idea what I want to put in there.. Was planning on starting with a pair of maroon clowns or some type of clown (having a hard time choosing). However, other than that.. I honestly have not a clue.

I would like a mixture of colors, sizes and types.

I also think I would like to have some sort of small schooler...

I agree with browsing online to see what you would like to get and research the animals for their needs.

If you want a reef, then stay away from butterflies and angels.

Maroon clowns are known to be mean little basturds.

My LFS doesn't carry saltwater, the nearest saltwater place is a few hours away and I am assuming most things are "on demand" or special order.

Really about the maroons? They're so cute. Why are the cute things always nasty?

I have been looking online - but I guess it's hard to piece together a stock list by looking at pictures and videos.

With those clowns I would get a group of 4-6 blue green chromis which look amazing under good lights are are pretty cheap, reef safe, easy to care for, and fun to watch, then u should also get a cool wrasse of some sort like maybe a mckoskers wrasses or something else, then get a reef safe angel such as a lamarks angel or flame angel, and for the bottom u could get maybe a cool little diamond goby or jaw fish or blenny, and last get a smaller tang such as a yellow tang and I think that would look amazing haha, so u think u should get ur clowns then a group of chromis, then a wrasse, then a bottom dweller such as a goby, then the angel, then the tang...
