12G Nanocube (???)

I just purchased a Nanocube off of Craigslist for $20. I heard about nanocubes being prone to cracking but for the price being asked, I was a sucker to NOT buy it .

While inspecting I learned that the light was broken and after trying to haggle with the seller he decided to toss in all of the supplies he had for the tank (test kits, heater, rocks, etc.)

Anyways, I thought I could just go to nanotuners or something to get a totally new light setup (the old one has rust spots in a number of areas). But then I was surprised to learn that I did not know which nanocube I have.

So could someone help me identify which nanocube I have? All of the stickers have been peeled off, and they would've been a great help. But alas, it comes down to asking you guys

Also, if anyone has a suggestion for the lighting upgrade, I would greatly appreciate it.

It looks like the first generation JBJ Nano Cube to me, but you might want to check out some images online to confirm.

There "should" be a sticker on the back that states serial number and year of production. if you are looking at the back, it should be in the upper left hand corner... pretty obvious. Good luck. Call Chris at nanocustoms and he might be able to help you identify it better.

A lot of people are saying that it's the OG Nanocube, so I guess I'll go with their expert opinion

I'm going to head over to nanotuners.com later this week and look up some lighting, but does anyone have a suggestion on what I should run? I haven't decided on how much wattage I should have under my hood mainly because I don't have a clue on what I'll be stocking.

It'll all boil down to what I can get on a student budget I guess >:V
