14 Gallon Bio-Cube questions

I recently bought an Oceanic bio-cube (14 gallon) and I've got several questions/problems.

I've got a lot of surface skum on the top of the water. I thought the overflow would take care of this but it doesn't seem to be, any ideas?

Do most peopl use just the recirculation pump for flow or do you add another powerhead for flow?

foresteroenw I have a 14 gallon Bio Cube but I did a flew mod's to it first I opened the flow up a bit between chamber one and two. I just cut the plastic out a little. This increased the flow. Then I made a refuge in chamber 2 by mounting a light on the back oh yea you have to scrape the paint off first. I also added a mini-jet 606 it has a bit more flow and I use the stock pump behind the rocks. I also added a heater and a Hydor I will try to find the tread.any more questions just ask. Good Luck
