140gallon reef with all damsels

I say, go with the "semi-aggressive" types rather than "aggressive" types, and it would be amazing! (like the Chrysiptera damsels..yellow tail, talbots, etc)

But not 80 of them!! You're not going to be able to add all at once anyway, so just go with 10 or so of one, then 10 or so of another, etc and see how it goes. I think you'll be surprised how "full" it will look with 30-40 damsels and corals.

Brandon I love Damsels so I decided to add a group to my 280. The tank isn't up yet but I started buying fish and quarantining them. I chose Yellow tail Blue Damsels (Chrysiptera parasema)and some Azure Damsels (Chrysiptera hemicyanea) due to their less aggressive nature. I will be adding ten of them to the 280 and also six Royal Grammas. My idea is to add different size fish to the tank and only five large fish. The smaller the fish the more I want of each species to make an impact. That's within reason though. I want to limit aggression so I will keep the groupings to a managable size.

There are other ways to make your tank look more natural. You can choose only a few species of coral and allow them to form large colonies. That's what I plan to do. The corals will look more natural but the fish will not. My goal for the fish is to have them stand out against the muted colors of soft corals. I like bright gaudy fish : )

chihuahuah6 thats what my 140 is exactly like lol i have alot of soft corals, some lps, and sps but the main goal is to have the fish stand out among the corals to create the popping effect.

brandon, I just noticed the schutzhund in your sig, and also noticed you're in Tampa. Where do you train? I can't PM but you can e-mail me if you don't want your thread cluttered. :)
