150G SPS Reef Tank

Hello RC! :wavehand:

It's been a while since I have posted anything on here (or really been on any reef site for that matter) ... unfortunately this past summer with me being away for so long and even now that the new season has started, I had a decent tank crash and lost a bit of stuff ... my fish suffered the most ... but being in this hobby for so many years, you learn to move forward and rebuild, as much as it stinks. :lmao:

So here is my new 150G tank (72x18x30").

System Spec's:

150G RR Tank
40G Sump
20G Fuge (has to be set up ... since adding the second skimmer to the tank I don't have the room for the fuge down below the tank, so I will be plumbing a 20G tank into the system)

Lighting: 3x250W MH Lumenbright Mini's Reflectors with Reeflux 12k bulbs (Two lights on at 1pm then off at 9pm ... middle reflector on at 2pm off at 10pm)
2x Ecoxotic LED Stunner Strips

Skimmer(s): Bubble Magus Cone Skimmer, Red Sea C-Skim1800 (before anyone jumps on them for being so-so skimmers, they were generously given to me to try them out :spin1:)

Flow: 2x Vortech MP-40W's, 2x Koralia 3's and 1x Koralia 4

I run carbon in a bag, i used to use the Two Little Fishies Reactors, which always ended up leaking on me and causing me more trouble than they were worth. (maybe it was something I did ... lol!)

I have a Deltec Reactor with GFO which works very nicely ... I would love to add another one to the system, they are so well built and I see why people pay the prices they do for their equipment. :)

I kept the fish very simple this time around ... 3x Yellow Tangs, 1x Gold Rim Tang, 1x Midas Blenny, 1x Mystery Wrasse, 1x Orange Flanked Wrasse, 1x Pink Skunk Clown, 1x Ocellaris Clown, 1x Sleeper Goby, 2x Green Chromis 5x Yellow Tail Damsel

Enough rambling ... here are a couple photos of the tank!

lol going back on your words about never trying the zeo stuff : O . Nice pics tho any pics are better then no pics.

:wildone: Yeah, and since I got somewhat of a camera again (finally found it) I can get the threads updated.

Who said anything about Zeo? :uzi:

NeoZeo FTW! At least for me ... It was worth the try man, I picked up 4 boxes of the stones soooo cheap from some shop out on Long Island, plus a large thing of Microbacter7 (Mb7) and the Reef Biofuel (although I could switch out the Biofuel for vodka, for now since this is working I won't.). Heck I even have some of the Prodibio stuff a friend gave me sometime back to try out ... still have it ... just didn't use it.

Give the tank a couple years, then it will look nice. :)

nice tank Dave, save me some frags, lol

Hey Jarrett!!! Good to see you over here as well! :)

No problem ... frags of whatever you want. I was just out to Tropical Island in Deer Park with Dave (Yourbedormine ... I totally forgot what he changed his user name to ... lol) ... that place is my new LFS. :celeb1:

In the first pictures your tank looked a little sterile but still nice. The latest pics are really really nice. You tank looks so colorful and ful of life.

Thank you very much!!! I fully agree ... I was definitely NOT happy with the way the tank looked back in October ... so I decided to redo it a bit, reworking the rocks, fish selection, CORAL selection etcetc. I am pretty happy with the result so far!

Looking great, nice progress since Oct.
Thanks James! Are you on MR as well? I am pretty sure I have seen you around those parts before.

dang nice dave - wish my microladus was green instead of yellow : /

See John, I told you I would eventually get some new pictures of the tank up! I picked up that Microlaudus from Mshur over on MR a while ago, one of my favorite pieces in the tank for sure!

I should also point out ... during the transformation of this tank ... I started making 2 smaller w/c's during the week, as opposed to larger bi-weekly changes ... takes virtually no time at all in the evening to do them ... and it seems to be paying off. If anyone thinks I am totally wasting my time with that ... feel free to comment.

I am also not 100% happy with the left side of the tank ... I have been thinking about redoing that AGAIN ... lol ... maybe find some nicer rock or something.
