I successfully moved a 180 gallon tank. Everything ate the first night. The only causalty was one damsel that was in the tank as food to begin with. With all the rock removed, he was finally caught by my lionfish. He was originally going after a six line, but we were able to spare him ( and he went into my reef tank to insure that he remains alive. This is my first fish only tank, so I will be watching this forum. Anything I should look for the first week or so? I am monitoring ammonia, NO2 and NO3 etc. The previous owner purposely had the salinity @ 1.019 for the sake of parasites. pH was at 8.2, alk was correct. the temp was too warm last night at 82, but it is back under 80 this morning. the tank has one yellow tang, one huma huma, one spotted hawk, one luna wrasse, one lionfish, and one/two damsels. I will keep it like this for a while, but then what? The previous owner has snowflake that he plans on giving me, but I do not know if that is a good idea, any insight?

How much of the water did you save? If you saved at least 50% and kept the same substrate & live rock you should be fine.
we kept at least 50% of the h20. I prepared 55 gallons at my house and we did not use all of it. That being said, Eric also prepared some at his house. He had all of the rock out by the time I arrived at his house, so it was fairly straight forward. The tank could be carried by two strong people, but we had to have help to lift it off and on the stand has is was hard plumbed and had to be lifted about a foot above the stand to move it. What is the consensus on feeding? I was told once a day, but the wrasse and trigger are beggars and are constantly at the top of the tank wanting to be fed. I'll try to get some picks, I have to move some rock around as it was too cloudy to place anything where I wanted it when setting it up.
