So I was think of making a small tank out of acrylic. My plan is to go to the hardware store and have 4 pieces cut. What would I use to hold them together to glue them in place?

real quick, you need 5 pieces and the company (weld on) makes good acrylic solvent for welding acrylic together.

I know I saw a guide around here somewhere that showed everything but let's google it real quick for a quick guide...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYhfV7SvoRs <-- this guy has a really nice video series about it, just ignore his sales pitch to the plastics company, even though if I got free acrylic I would likely do the same :P

there are lots of DIY sites for building basic flat 4 sided acrylic aquariums

if you have the store cut then make sure they know what you are making and they are very careful to cut it exactly right, your tolerances are almost nothing for how perfect the pieces have to fit together

Lol
Forgot the bottom

Thanks a ton. It can look ugly because it's going under the tank and no one will see it.

you will be very lucky if the hardware store cuts it well enough to build a tank out of. do you not have room for a glass 5 or 10 gallon tank?

It could be glass. I really don't care as long as it holds water. It can also be butt ugly because it's going under the tank. I won't be able to buy a tank because I need an odd size that's on tall side. I'm going to put it next to my sump. I want to go from the over flow to this tank and then to the sump. I was thinking to let it flow out by gravity.
