2 questions on Montipora

Have 2 questions on Montipora
- what are those stringy things on the coral margins?
- have a kessil A80. Just above water level, what should be the power? Currently my settings are 40% power and 20% colour (very actinic)
I feel that 40% max couple of hours a day might not be enough for Montipora...

Hmmm, not sure. It’s been a long time since I’ve kept a plating Monti and I don’t recall ever seeing anything like that.

Looks like it may just be sliming but mine only do that if I stress them out.

As for the light, I’m having trouble finding par readings, but everything I’m reading it appears to max out with “low light” SPS
