2 Triggers in a 125?

I love triggers, just had to get that out of the way. I'm setting up a 125G, 6 footer pretty much just for a Clown Trigger. Ya I know they get big but a 180 wasn't going to work in the only spot I have left for a tank in my house.

So my question for the trigger experts is, will a Clown and a Niger get along in a 125? They will be the only fish with the exception of a possible Snowflake or Zebra moray eel.

I wouldn't do it. In all likelihood, it would be a fairly short time before the CT kills the niger (and possibly the other animals in the tank).

I should also mention that I wouldn't put a CT even in a 180 at this point. If you've seen a large one, you'll see that they need a lot more room than that.

agree with wolverine...A lot of combination of Triggers you could do in that tank size, but Clown Trigger and anything would not be one of them.

Ya I guess I would be pressing my luck with that combo. I was set on doing a Clown but that would make for a pretty boring tank with just one fish.

Does anyone see any issues with a Niger and a Picasso? If I do those two is it possible to add a Flame Angel or would it get bullied? Been wanting one forever but to scared to put it in my reef. Thanks for the help guys.

I bought a Niger Trigger last year, that sucker killed and ate my Fire Shrimp while it was molting.:eek1:

Pulled him out that night:lolspin:

I had Huma Huma and Niger together in that size tank for 5 years, would still have them I suspect had I not moved cross country. Tough to say on the Flame Angel, I would think you would likely be ok, I would get the Flame in first if possible and try to get one that is already fairly large. My Triggers have never bothered with the Dwarfs I have had in my 240.

Would you really expect any trigger Not to eat the shrimp? Triggers don't have those fish to eat algae.

I had a huma huma and clowntrigger in my 125 for about a year. Everything went fine for them. however they were both quite small around 4 inches. As an adults, there is no way that this combo would have worked. I think you could probably get away with two as long as they were both small for at least a few years. However be prepared to remove a trigger at signs of aggressiveness.
