no they will fight

2nd that...

Unless it is a VERY large tank.. some people have had success with that - but for the most part - the rule says no.

I just saw an exception to this.
My little brother has a 24 gal nano.
He already had 1 perc in his tank for a month or 2.
He went fish shopping without me and when he came back i noticed he got an occelarris.
the new fish was actually bigger than his existing fish and i thought for sure it was going to be a mess if he put that in.
He put the bag in his tank to see what kind of reaction he would get and surprisingly they both were on their sides twitching and showing submissive roles.
It has been about 2 weeks now and they still both get along great and hang out together.

A pair of pink skunk, a pair of onyx, and a pair of bw occ. in 240 gallon over 3 years without any issue.

Percs and ocellaris are known to be able to breed together. They are almost the same. If it was a maroon and a tomato its gonna be a no no. Good to hear they're not fighting though. :)
