That is a cute little tank and nice fish. People on here may criticize you for the little Tang though. It's going to get really big. He seems fine for now but he will soon outgrow his home.

Yeah thanks for the heads up. Do rag (don't ask gf was the one who picked the name) won't be there for long. I'll be rebuilding a 54 corner tank so he could live out his teenage years and then eventually come up on a bigger tank.

Tank Update.
Added new live stock yesterday
1 emerald crab
2 butterscotch nassarious snails
1 red mushroom
1 pulsing xenia

Water Parameters
Specific gravity- 1.025
Ammonia- 0
Nitrite- 0
Nitrate- 40ppm

When i first got the blue tang, it seemed as if it was stressed out. I spotted some white spots on him and saw that he was scratching on the rock wall. So i started to feed multiple times throughout the day for a week and im guessing that is why my nitrates are so high. I can no longer see the white spots today and he just started to pick at the romaine lettuce that has been in there for days.

Also any advice on how to attach the red mushroom to a rock would be helpful.

Yeah im moving in two months which should give me enough time to put him in a bigger tank.

Xenia was doing fine this morning and towards the evening started to shrink. I turned off skimmer and took out a carbon bag. Any suggestions?

Tank Update.

There is a good chance the white spots you saw were ich. Do not be surprised if they show back up again on the tang and or the clown fish.

If you are moving to another tank I'd recommend pulling fish to qt using TTM and start with a sterile tank. Let the corals go fallow with the inverts as well. I've made the mistake twice. It can flair up and kill.

Have Patience. Xenia is really hard to kill....I just flipped a rock over from 3 months ago, and there was xenia on it...smashed in the dark...for 3 months....couple days later they're almost normal...

Woke up this morning to this. when i went to grab the coral it released some kind of creamy liquid as i was pullng it out the water. So do i still keep it in the tank?

IMO, just leave the Xenia in its place no matter what it does. It might go through some temporary stress here and there, but it'll recover because it's a very hardy coral. Just leave it be and it'll grow. Moving it about will only upset it further at this point.

Very nice! I agree on the hippo tang. They can get up to 12" long and I think the minimum tank size is 125+ gallons. He might be small now, but they still need a lot of swimming space, even as little guys

Fingers crossed! I did a 50% water change and my nitrates have gone down from 40ppm to 10ppm. Also dosed a cap of iodine and bromide.

Thanks yeah he's tiny now and well definitely be receiving a bigger home in a couple of months.
