Best mushrooms/ricordea for a 20 gallon? Also, if I could know why red mushrooms are more difficult to care for than blue mushrooms, that would be nice.

What lighting are you going to have. some shrooms like it bright and some like it fairly dim. Mushrooms are really cool. They just don't get the respect they deserve
But I have some that will more than hold their own for color in any tank. Some look better in 10k light and most look better in the 20k range.

+1 pretty much depends on lighting.

I have had red shrooms that are indestructable- survived tank crashes, heater clashes ect. if they are discoma- they are all pretty hardy.
rics are a little tougher, especially if you have fine sand. st. thomas, and rhodactis I think are the next easiers and I have the most trouble with carlgreni's.
Not too much flow, not too bright at least at first. but, if the strech to the top, then you need more light.
