200 gallon ??

i am starting a 200 gallon tank with wet/dry.....i am planing on putting an external pump with tru unions but i have no idea what size pump i should buy. i plan on making it a fish only tank for now but will be making it reef later. thanks in advance.

Even with a FO, and assuming your only using one pump in the system, a 2000gal/hr pump would be considered the minimum. If it were me I would double this. However if your running more than one pump eg. for internal circ, then a much less meaty return would suffice.

I agree the more flow the better you can always back feed it to the sump if need be.

seq 4200 is a nice return pump depending on your head pressure
