Anyone running XM 20000k's 250w on their tank? I am thinking of going to those, but I'd like to see them first. Everyone seems to want to describe them, but it seems no one has them!
Hey Chris,do a search on here for them.I know someone posted some pics a few months back. They had some with the 20K & actinics, then some with just the 20K's.I can't remember which forum(I'm sorry). They looked too blue for my taste, but that is personal choice & could of been the camera etc.Someone also had a post with the 15K's & they looked very nice to me.HTH,Darcy.
i think pics dont seem to do justice for lighting. you really need to see it in person for its true color. even if you do capture the true color, it will seem different from computer to computer (crt vs LCD etc) along with other factors.
I was running 20k with one 460nm PC light and one 10k PC. With the 10K on, the some greens and blues were washed out. I removed the 10k PC light and install a 50/50 and the colors were great! I had to replace my 20k and I purchased a Hamliton 14k. I am not to crazy about the effect. The colors are good, but I perfer the 20k with 460nm and 50/50. Next year I will replace the 14k with a 20k.
I agree. that's why I posted here, so I could invite myself over for a gawking session. That's what I love about this hobby anyway, the gawking sessions.
