20g or 29g for sump to fit asm g3

Well i have a asm g3 skimmer and im working on a new 75g tank build and need to make a sump. The thing is that i dont know if the asm g3 will fit in the 20g or not, i know it will fit in the 29g with space to spare. As far as the 20g would it be a tight fit with little space to spare or would it work out fine?

I am planning on having the sump set-up in 3 sections. Dt will drain into 1st section where the skimmer is. 2nd section will be refugium and 3rd will be the return pump section. I also want to have enough space to set up an ato in the stand as well. Any advice will help folks since this will be my 2nd sps/lps reef set up i want to do things right this time and a proper sump set up is a must.

I have a 75, and had a 20H sump for about a year. I just switched out to a 20 long for the extra length. If you have the space, go with the 29 since you'll have more capacity for overflow when the power goes out and 6" more in length assuming you're considering a 20 high.

Alright thanks for the advice. I would have hated to buy the sump tank and it wouldnt have fit. i figured i would have to get the 29g as a sump. Well time to make plans for the sump build then.

The ASM G3 skimmer foot print is very big. I had to go with a 30g sump. I wanted enough room for the refugium to work properly.

I use a Rubbermaid tote because it is tall. This gives me lots of volume to take on water. When the power goes out. It also keeps microbubble spatter contained and off the walls of my cabinet.
