20g Sand Removal

So I've had a 20g nano reef set up for a little over a year now. It contains SPS, LPS, Zoas, Clams, a Rose Bubble, and 4 fish. I want to remove all of the sand and turn it into a bare bottom tank but I don't want to crash the tank with removing the sand bed. Should this be a concern or am I safe to go ahead and remove the sand? Thanks in advance for any advice!

I think most people syphon a little bit of sand out with each water change. This way you dont shock the system and it gives the tank some time to adjust to the slight changes
