does anyone know about this pump? this is what the lfs got me for my 210 gallon???? they are saying this is all I need for my 210? 1 pump but the tank has 2 over flows? also do you run the lines from the bottom of the tank to the sump from one side then return them to the other side from the sump? it looks like to me you would run the lines from the tank from each side not the same? any help would be appreciated.....

3here is the website he got the pump from

www.pondmaster.com

its a 02740 model #

is there a better pump I should get or is this sufficient?

this is what the over flows look like they have 2 holes in each overflow assuming one to go to the tank and the other from the sump back in? but the lfs says both lines that come from the tank come from the same overflow???

The pump is a Mag 2400 - 2400 gph w/ no head pressure.

Reef Central is full of great information. If you haven't purchased anything yet, you really should investigate your equipment/hardware options before you plop down your hard earned dead presidents. Some LFS are known to sell what they want to sell, not what you need.

BTW, the framework looks great. Looks like it will be a very nice set-up.

Im assuming you are getting an AGA 210 with the megaflows. That is the exact same tank I have. It should have a 1" and 3/4" hole in each overflow. The "standard" way is to have 1" be the drains then 3/4" be the return. Myself - I have all 4 as drains and run my returns over the top. In retrospect now, I probably would not do the same thing because I could get away with not running so much flow through the overflows as I am.

What are you planning on keeping in the tank? Knowing that will go a long way in determining equipment. If you are planning SPS - I would go with just a plain old sump and get a nice skimmer. If you are not doing many corals or just softies, that type of filtration may be ok.

I was planning on adding alot of corals eventually? We are spending alot of money getting this thing going so I want to put the best in...I was considering a refergium but I hear people going both ways ? do you have only one pump? mine says 2400 gpr ill have to y it off to each part of the tank.....im looking for picture perfect water quality...
Thanks Joe any help Would be appreciated

the light should be here Thursday it was a little costly but its 1 complete light made for the tank with all the lights I need they said like 700+ watts they recommend a dehumidifier in the room, we were going to add a line running from it out of the side of the house for drainage? has anyone ever done this?

Well if you want the best, then you definatly want some better filtration. Look at a nice skimmer if you really want to keep your water clean. Depending on your budget - Deltecs, Euro Reefs, ASM are all popular brands around here. Personally I have a small budget - thus the ASM! I only have 1 return pump, but a few Tunze for in tank water movement, the Tunze wave box (which is great), and the pumps for the skimmer.

As far as a fuge goes, again it comes down to your "vision" for the tank. Are you using a sand bed? Bare bottom? you basically need to pick a "method". Most people with sand beds have a fuge. Most people with bare bottom tanks keep things supper clean and don't use a fuge. Then there are a millilon people in between that use different parts of different methods.

Since you are going to make this a reef tank, I would:

1) Dump the bio balls in the sump.
2) If the LFS is equipping this for you, I would get a listing of equipment he is suggesting and research here on RC.
3) There are mass quantities of threads here that depict builds in the same range that you are putting together. If on the RC main entrance page, you clicked on Forums>Large tanks, you can scroll down and see a number of threads that should be of interest.
4) You say you are going with a small sand bed. How many pounds live rock where you looking at?
