I need a new hobby!!!!!:mad2:

Right now I thinking, shards of 1/4 glass, made that way with a Sledge Hammer:hammer: :hammer:
 
No matter how many times you measure, how much you plan, Everything just goes wrong trying to put things together.
It doesn't help that this is my first time trying to put together a sump, and I am by myself on this.
I just had two plans, both seemed good. Measured 50 plus times. And still the pieces won't fit.
I didn't realize you can't pivot the glass into place. (You must slide it in)
So my glass in 1/16 or 1/8 to big. The glass shop it now closed for the long weekend.
I tried to get the molding off the top of the 75 (so I could slide the glass down and put the molding back on) All managed to accomplish there it to bust every blade I have. And now my aquarium sealant is gummed up in the tube. can't get it out.
Man I need a Beer, But spent all the $$ on this bloody tank!!!
 
chill out relax and go have that beer or two or three. Use the end of a caulk gun to clear your dried out sealant-there is a thing underneath that you can stick in the tube. Is the glass too tall or to wide. If it is too wide, slip it in sideways. HD will cut the glass for you pretty cheap. Good luck!
 
The glass is too wide. Home depot says they don't cut glass. Lowell in Edwardsville- their glass cutting blade is no good and they don't have a replacement. the lowell in Fairview say they can not cut any thing smaller than an inch. So since 1/8 to 3/16 to big they won't touch it.
 
Tried to cut the glass peices, Glass cutter fell apart. Tiny little washers or whatever they are just came flying out. Got the metal square from a freind. The glass was not cut square. It is 1/8 off. Thus my problem.
I knew I didn't measure wrong. That is why I can't get it to pivot into place. The inside of the tank is 17 1/2.

I might have to let the team Steve side down and help the team Rena side if you get held up anymore. Hang in there, for being a noob and doing this all by yourself you are making tremendous accomplishments.
 
It might be a team of 1 counting myself..... Can I still call that a team ?

At any rate, Rena and I have a competition going to see who gets their tank going first. She is slightly in the lead, considering she actually has the tank in her possession. I think that is a mere trivial fact.

don't worry, I'll help tomarrow until i have to go to work. Then you can bring it over there and we'll lock the door and tell people we're closed. Although, i do like my alice in wonderland idea

He says a team of one. Team Rena knows better.
Steve has many alter egos.
He has a lot of help.

Shooter, what about a team Rena jersey, They're at least good to clean the glass on your tank, wait- the way it is going, it will probly scratch your glass up.
Hey, how about a team Steve jersey here too. I have a feeling he is going to beat me and he doesn't even have his tank yet.
Hek, Everyone will beat me. I think I'm going backwards.
