This will be a slow build. I got a 230gal tank that needs to be resealed and a really nice canopy. I started the stand this passed weekend and it turned out pretty nice so far.

Do you think i need to add more legs or should the 4 be strong enough?

I planning on resealing it either this weekend or next i bought some glass to help strengthen the bottom seals its going to have a euro brace on the side bottom of the tank but will be covered up by sand so u will never be able to tell. I still need to get silicone and some black paint for the back.

im still deciding which tank im going to uses as a sump/refugi i have a standard 55gal and a 40 breeder. Which would use recommend?

All feedback is welcome. Im still figuring out which skimmer, pump, powerheads and lights so let me know what you think.

Looking good so far, if it were me i would add 2 more legs to the front and back. However you could probably get away with only one.

As for the 55gal and 40 breeder, is it possible to fit both under there? If so i would use one as the sump and the other as fuge.

Yea i would recommend installing a leg in the middle of the front and back just so the 2x4 does not sag, and maybe a couple cross braces across the top, at least 1, 3 spaced out would be better.

danferd2002- i dont think i will be able to get both under the stand. Guess i will just go with which ever works best with whatever skimmer i end up getting.

Lowredranger- I cut two more legs and couple braces to go across the top should get them installed this weekend. Im also going to put a piece of plywood on top and bottom which should help!

Thanks for the feedback

that stand will not hold as is. either add another leg front and back or replace the top 2x4's with 2x8's.

that stand would probably be better with 2x6s for the top supports...if you didint want to do that definitely add a leg in the front and back

Id change that rear center brace again. If it starts to sag, the weight is being held up by the nails. Make it shorter and put it between the top and bottom horizontal pieces.... Maybe add another one while youre in there.
