I have a 24g that has been running for about 6 months i would like to put some interesting fish inside (no clowns) if someone could help me out i would appreciate it. I have had; 2 clarkii, green clown gobie, dragon gobie and a anemone. I would like to make it a reef if not let me know about lighting for the tank.

Thank You

So do you have those fish in there now? If so, you are pretty much stocked for a 24 gallon.

If not, this is a good list of some smaller types of fish:

It really comes down to your own choice. How many fish do you want? Do you want fish that swim, fish that perch, fish that make a burrow?

Gobies, jawfish, clowns, blennys, firefish, hawkfish are some good choices to just name a few.

Tell us more of what YOU want and we can help more from there.

Hey how about the; Rusty Angelfish, Coral Beauty Angelfish, Atlantic Pygmy/Cherub Angelfish, Potter’s Angelfish.

As in one of those I hope?

I know the Potters and Coral Beauty will get too big/need more room than 24 gallon for sure.

I have never heard of (probably heard of different name or seen it) a Rusty, and I cannot say much for the Pygmy just because I have never seen one so I don't know it's behavior.

Also, with angels, they are usually non reef safe, eating SPS, LPS, or sofites.

Right now I have a Sebae Clownfish in my 24. I also have a blue bar pseudochromis on order.

Blue Bar Pseudochromis:

(I didn't order it online, I got a local place to order it for me).

Basically any Pseudochromis would work but they can be a little fiesty.

If you want a passive tank I would stick with Gobies, Dartfish (Firefish), Cardinals, etc...

If you want something unique try the:

Court Jester Goby
Purple Firefish
Possum Wrasse

Those 3 together would look nice, check out liveaquaria.com to see pictures.

Have you ever heard of CMAS? We have a local board if you want deals on local corals or need advice.

And now for a shameless plug of my Nano (Be nice, I am getting a BOATLOAD of corals in this weekend, it'll look better):

Thanks guys i talked to my friend he has had saltwater for about 10 years reef and fish only all tank sizes from 5g - 500g pretty sweet he said that the coral beauty would be ok i a 24g nano with lots of liverock (I have 28lbs. of liverock.) hidding places gets about 2''-3''

Thanks Guys

From having a coral beauty in my 55, I can tell you right now a 24 gallon will be too small. These guys can easily get 4 inches. Not to mention that they are angels- fish that love to openly swim. If you did any angel, which just IMO shouldn't be any, do a Pygmy. Please.
