Everything showed up healthy and awesome. Shipping in water makes a huge difference. As does, I'm sure, selling rock completely coated in living things.
This clam almost escaped notice until I caught him shooting water at one of the hitchhiking mithrax crabs. There are at least two of those, both happily picking whatever it is they pick off the rocks. My daughter has also spotted a sea cucumber, five or six snails and numerous worms.
This rock is shot through with tunnels and caves.
You can see the glowing tentacles of these little coral polyps. There are a ton of these guys.
My ammonia has been unreadable pretty much from the start. Nitrite peaked at 3, Nitrate at 20. Both have fallen since then, even though it has been just over 24 hours.
I did a small water change this afternoon.
I'm expecting the other cycle shoe to drop, though I really hope to be able to keep some of this alive.
I can't wait for part two. I also can't believe I wasted time ever buying rock anywhere else.
